Who we are
Genesis Custom Price Calculator, listed on Shopify as Custom Size Price Calculator, is operated by ASYNCORIGINS LTD, United Kingdom ("we", "us" or "our"). This policy explains how we handle information through the app and related support.
Business contact address: 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom
Privacy and support email: [email protected]
This policy covers the calculator app. Any separate analytics, advertising, contact forms or other services on our company website should be covered by that website's privacy and cookie notices.
Our role
Merchants decide which products to configure, their prices and settings, and how customers use their store. When we process customer information to operate a merchant's calculator, we act on that merchant's behalf as a data processor. The merchant remains responsible for its customer privacy notices and lawful instructions to us.
We act as a data controller for information we use for our own merchant relationship, support, service security and legal obligations.
Information we process
Depending on how the app is used, we process:
- Store and account information: the Shopify store domain, installation and authentication details, authorised access credentials, and subscription status needed to connect and manage the app.
- Product and setup information: product and collection identifiers, titles, handles, images, SKUs, prices, selected options, labels, calculator settings and artwork uploaded by the merchant. Uploaded artwork records can include filenames.
- Calculator configurations: entered width and height, selected options, cutting allowance, crop position, image adjustments, calculated prices, country or currency context, configuration identifiers and optional order notes.
- Order information: Shopify order notifications and the order identifiers, timestamps and product references used to match purchases to saved calculator configurations. Notifications may contain additional customer or order information; the app's matching records retain the relevant order references and configuration details rather than a separate customer address book.
- Support information: your contact details, store URL, messages and any files you choose to send us.
- Technical information: request timestamps, error and security logs, and information such as IP addresses, browser details and requested URLs recorded by our hosting infrastructure.
Information comes from Shopify, merchants, customers using a merchant's calculator, and the infrastructure that runs the service. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information in order notes or uploading it in artwork unless it is necessary for your order and agreed with the merchant.
Shopify and its payment providers handle checkout and payments. The app does not collect or store full payment card details.
How we use information
We use information to connect the app to a store, save calculator settings, calculate prices, display artwork previews, create custom-priced products for Shopify cart and checkout, match configurations to orders, manage subscription access, provide support, investigate errors, prevent misuse and respond to privacy requests.
For processing for which we are the controller, our lawful bases are:
- Contract: providing the service to an individual merchant or responding to their request before entering a contract.
- Legitimate interests: administering relationships with business customers, supporting users and protecting the reliability and security of the service. We consider these interests alongside individuals' rights.
- Legal obligation: complying with applicable law and responding to valid legal and privacy requests.
Where consent is required for a separate activity, we will request it separately. Installing or using the app is not treated as blanket consent to unrelated marketing.
Some store access and product configuration information is necessary to operate the calculator. Without it, the affected functionality cannot work. Order notes and messages to support are optional.
Sharing and preview links
We share information as necessary with Shopify, Google Cloud and Firebase hosting services, providers used to handle support communications, and authorised people helping us operate and support the service. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect legal rights.
The app does not sell personal information or use calculator configurations for targeted advertising.
Merchant artwork is intended for storefront display. Saved configuration previews use links containing an access token. Anyone who has a valid preview link may be able to view its configuration details, including notes. Merchants and customers should share these links only with intended recipients. These links are not a suitable way to exchange confidential documents.
Storage and international processing
The app's primary database, artwork storage and backend are currently hosted in Google's London region in the United Kingdom. Shopify, hosting networks, support services and their service providers may also process information in other countries.
Where a transfer is restricted by UK data protection law, appropriate transfer arrangements are required, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards. Google publishes its applicable data-processing and transfer provisions in its Cloud Data Processing Addendum. Contact us for information about the arrangements applicable to your data.
Retention and deletion
We retain merchant settings while needed to provide the service. Saved configurations, artwork and order references are retained to operate calculators and saved previews, support orders and resolve related issues, until they are no longer required or are removed through an applicable erasure process. A request to erase customer information is handled with the merchant and through Shopify's privacy request mechanisms.
Uninstalling disconnects the app and removes stored Shopify session credentials. It does not immediately erase all saved settings and configurations. When Shopify sends its store-erasure request, our privacy worker deletes the app-held store records, related artwork and stored sessions.
Prepared customer-data exports are automatically removed after approximately 30 days. Routine application logs in our default logging storage are retained for 30 days. Provider audit logs, support correspondence and records needed for legal or security purposes may have different retention periods, determined by those purposes and applicable obligations.
Custom-priced Shopify products are temporary and are removed automatically when they expire. Deleting a temporary product does not itself erase its saved configuration, artwork or an existing Shopify order. Original merchant products are kept. Shopify and merchants manage their own order records separately.
Privacy requests and your rights
The app handles Shopify's customer data-request, customer-erasure and store-erasure webhooks. Customer exports are made available through authenticated merchant access. Processing a request does not require an active merchant session to remain stored.
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Email [email protected] to exercise your rights. We may need to verify your identity and the information concerned. If you are a customer of a merchant using the app, contact that store first so it can identify your order and coordinate the request with us. We will assist where appropriate and respond within applicable legal time limits.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or another relevant supervisory authority.
Security, cookies and changes
We use safeguards including encrypted connections, encryption of stored Shopify session credentials, authenticated merchant access and verification of Shopify webhook signatures. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
The app does not include advertising tracking pixels. Shopify and essential hosting or authentication services may use cookies or similar technologies under their own notices. This policy does not describe any separate tracking added by a merchant's theme or our company website.
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app or our practices. The latest version will appear on this page with an updated date. We will provide additional notice where required.
